The Lives of French Kids

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Pierre lives only two blocks away from his school so he usually walks with his mom when she is heading out to go to work. However, he did tell me that some of his friends take the métro to school every morning.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

Pierre and his friends usually bring their own lunch from home and eat it in their school's garden. He loves it when his mother makes crepes for lunch.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

They speak French at school but have an English class. Hello in French is bonjour.

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Pierre is a pretty common name. He also mentioned there are a lot of girls named Marie and several boys named Antoine.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

Pierre has to take French class, French history, English, math and physical eucation (P.E.). He told me he loves P.E. but also enjoys going to English class. He loves his English teacher.

What is your homework like?:

Homework is not that bad. According to Pierre he gets around one hour of homework per night, very similar to homework time in the U.S.

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

After school, Pierre usually goes home but he said he likes to play soccer during his two-hour lunch break.
