Our News

I went on an eight-mile hike in the Jihar Valley, which is between the cities of Bethlehem and Hebron. This was great because hiking isn't a very popular past time among people from Miami. I also attend an awesome traditional Palestinian dabke dance show and concert at the Ramallah Cultural Palace for the 40th-anniversary celebration of the dabke dance school that I attend.

What did I read this week?:

I'm reading a book called "Mornings in Jenin" by Susan Abulhawa who is a Palestinian-American author. I recently got to visit the city of Jenin, so it felt pretty cool to visit the very place that this story takes place.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I've been going to the gym a lot lately to stay in shape after eating so much delicious Arabic food! While hiking, I met some people from the Ramallah ultimate frisbee club, and they invited me to play with them next week. Also, I frequently play card games such as UNO and mafia with my students for fun.

Other news from this week:

This week was International Women's Day and to celebrate, I attended a nice event at the Ramallah municipality where I got to practice my Arabic listening skills while hearing inspiring and successful Palestinian women share their life stories.
