where you can order water for free, here you are nearly always charged for water since it comes as either a large or small water bottle.

What was the best meal this week?:

A yummy traditional Palestinian breakfast from a nearby cafe. The breakfast includes many different dips and flavors that you eat with pita bread. The breakfast is large enough to share and it includes hummus, ful madamas (cooked fava beans), labneh (yogurt), oil olive and za'atar (local spice), halaweh (sweet confection) and honey, white cheese served with some veggies such as olives, cucumber, peppers and pickles. All that was missing was some falafel, which is similar to hush puppies, but made from chickpeas!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I mostly listen to Spanish and Arabic music. I love salsa music particularly by Marc Anthony and Celia Cruz and am a big fan of reggaetón. I really enjoy listening to Maluma, J Balvin and Bad Bunny. In fact, reggaetón is actually quite popular in the West Bank and Jerusalem. I often hear my Palestinian students listening to it and hear it in cafes and at the gym. As for Arabic, it depends on the mood that I'm in. Most Palestinians tend to listen to Fairuz, a popular Lebanese singer, in the morning so I've picked up that habit. Two of my favorite songs of hers are "Sallimleh Allayh" and "Al Bostah." I also love listening to dabke (native local folk dance) music when working out, since it is very fast paced and exciting!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I did two really fun things this week that were both equally awesome in their own ways!
