It was hot! Bangalore, India is at a higher elevation than most other major metropolitan centers in India, so Bangalore is usually known and loved for its moderate climate. However, the month of March signals the beginning of summer in India and temperatures are climbing rapidly. I grew up in Austin, Texas but even the Texas heat does not match the heat in India!
I turned my head to the skies this week. During the day, birds of prey known as kites fly in circles above my city. Large fruit bats emerge at dusk and sometimes they fly at such a low altitude that they almost graze the top of my head! They are magnificent creatures, and I thank them for their role in reducing the mosquito population.
