The Biggest Bats In The World

Introduction:

The bats around Australia are known as flying foxes, and that is exactly what they look like. They're about as big as a small fox and are surprisingly furry. There are several different types of flying foxes native to  Brisbane as well as Australia as a whole. The black flying fox is the most common, while the grey-headed flying fox is the biggest of all the bats in the area. Finally, there is the little red flying fox.  While still pretty big, this is the smallest of the three species. They migrate to Brisbane during the Australian spring in October and stay through summer's end in April.

What does this creature or plant look like?:

The name fits! They really do look like foxes with big wings. They're furry with beady eyes. Their pointed faces and the undersides of their wings are almost hairless. They are mostly one color, with black foxes all black and little reds more of a brownish-orange. Grey-headed foxes are very similar to the black foxes, although they are a little bigger and they have a red collar of fur around their necks.

How did I feel when I saw it?:

It was pretty unnerving when I saw the flying foxes for the first time. They're huge, they fly really low, and they're also really loud.
