The area I traveled to has a lot of tourists visit it. Everyone spoke Hebrew and English fluently, but I heard languages like Chinese, Arabic, Spanish and more!
The New Israeli Shekel is used all throughout Israel. There are coin and banknote forms of the New Israeli Shekel.
A bottle of water costs between 4 and 7 shekel. That is a little over one dollar but less than two dollars!
The hostel I stayed at hosted an incredible dinner to welcome in Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest. I ate lots of salads, hummus and challah bread!
I listened to and sang along to Jewish songs and hymns that welcome in the Jewish day of rest. They were very beautiful and fun to participate in.
All of the hiking was incredible, but I reall enjoyed swimming in the Dead Sea! It was so fun to float around without having to try!
