How Did I Visit the Mountains? On a Horse, Of Course!

Introduction:

I traveled to Dali, a city in the Yunnan province, for a work meeting. Yunnan is a province in the southwestern part of China. Can you find it on a map? It is quite far away from Shanghai. I flew four hours on a plane from Shanghai to Dali. Dali is a city rich with history and culture, which is why it is one of China’s official tourist cities. For hundreds of years, Dali was an important city for trade on the Southern Silk Road. People from all over Asia traveled through Dali to trade valuable goods, such as tea and jade, and to exchange ideas, cultures and languages. Today, people from all over the world still like to visit Dali. They wander around in the beautiful old town, visit Erhai Lake and climb the nearby mountains, where tea is still grown.

How do people get around?:

In the city, people drive cars and ride bicycles and electric scooters. However, some people still ride horses in the surrounding countryside. You can also ride in a horse-pulled cart if you want to take a relaxed tour of the old town or the countryside.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

Have any of you ever ridden a horse? I rode horses when I was a child, so I was not scared to ride a horse into the mountains. In fact, I was excited to ride a horse again.
