This week I traveled 1,210 kilometers or 751 miles. That is a very long way, but it only took me 4.5 hours, because I took a high-speed train, which travels much faster than regular trains and is more convenient than traveling on an airplane.
I have been in Shanghai since September, but my journey with you is just starting. Let’s see how far I go this semester!
I took the following modes of transportation this week: bicycle, bus, subway, taxi and high-speed train.
Once again, I must say the Summer Palace! It was genuinely interesting to learn about the history of the palace. Given that it was originally constructed to be used only by emperors, it was awe-inspiring to know that I was able to walk the same paths, sit in the same places and take in the same scenery as these powerful figures.
