This week I traveled from Shanghai, which is where I live, to Beijing, the capital of China. Shanghai is on the coast of the Pacific Ocean and has two rivers running through it. It is located farther south than Beijing, so it doesn’t get much snow, and it is very humid. When it is 45 degrees outside, it feels really cold. I need to wear a big jacket, a sweater, a hat and gloves. Even then, I still feel very cold. There is not very much sun, and it is always raining. In Beijing, the weather was very nice! It is typically 60 degrees and sunny.
Both Shanghai and Beijing are very big cities, even bigger than New York City! In big cities with a lot of people, there is less space for wild animals and there are more people with pets. This means that most animals I see are dogs and cats. There are almost no wild animals. Because the weather is cold, many people put a sweater on their dogs so that they don’t get cold! Dogs look very funny and cute wearing sweaters.
