Our News

What was the best meal this week?:

This week I had a really delicious breakfast that I bought at a stand on the street, for only USD $1. Do you know what a burrito is? I basically ate a Chinese burrito! The man at the food stand wrapped a  big flour pancake around sliced potatoes, egg, tofu and seaweed and put lots of spicy sauce on top. It was inexpensive, healthy and really tasty!

What music did I listen to this week?:

This week I listened to a lot of music from around the world. My friend showed me Mongolian rap, which was really cool to listen to. I didn’t understand any of the words, but the sound of the music and the rhythm were rather different from rap in the U.S. and in other parts of the world. I liked it a lot!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

My favorite activity of the week was visiting the Summer Palace in Beijing. It was beautiful and peaceful, with many sights to see! The palace was like a museum and a park. I was also able to learn a great deal about Chinese history just by walking around.

What did I read this week?:

This week I read a lot of articles on WeChat, an app that people use here instead of Facebook or Instagram. I mainly read comics and articles about education.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

This week I played badminton. Badminton is like tennis, but the rackets are smaller and instead of hitting a ball, you hit something called a shuttlecock, which looks like a little ball with feathers. It was my second time playing badminton, and I was not very good, but my friends are helping me learn!
