What main languages are spoken here?:

In Granada, Spain, the official language is Spanish! The second language is Castilian, a language which people have speaking here since the old times. I have also noticed many people know basic English. And of course, the tourists speak many foreign languages.

What type of money is used here?:

In Europe, the currency is the euro. One euro is worth $1.16 U.S. dollars. Therefore, you are "losing" money whenever you exchange dollars for euros. Here, coins or loose change is used often: for example, to buy a bus ticket, or a bottle of water, a plate of tapas (appetizers), or anything else which costs less than five euros. Here, unlike in the U.S., you do not need to leave tips for the waiter or waitress.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

In Granada, water from the faucet is safe to drink, but it is still a good idea to carry a water bottle. A water bottle is about .60 euros, so about $1.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I have had this week is "Cazuela de Mariscos" which is translated to "seafood casserole", but, really, it is more like a macaroni soup with seafood. I was so surprised to find clams in my soup.  I have never eaten clams so casually before.
