Kim, one of my closest school friends in Spain, lives in a homestay here in Valencia. In a homestay, you live with a local family while you are studying abroad. The family provides you with a room, cooks all of your meals, takes you on amazing adventures, and supplies you with a lifetime of memories. I decided to interview my friend Kim's host mom, Ana. She has lived in Valencia all of her life but gives a unique outlook on what life is like with having exhange students live with her.
My name is Ana de Rufino.
I live inside the city of Valencia. I love it here. I live close to the City of Arts and Sciences-- a really neat museum Valencia is famous for!
Most people live in apartments here because the city is so antique and big. I live in a very cozy apartment. It has a lot of natural light from the many windows and is full of modern furniture.
I have one son named Rafa. He's older, so he doesn't live at home with me anymore, but he comes over with his girlfriend a lot. I love getting to see him! Currently, I live with my little dog Pippa and two lovely exchange students, whom I consider family.
