I also want to keep connected to the United States and the rest of the world, so I have been reading the news whenever I get a chance.
I did not play any physical games or sports this week, but my roommates and I absolutely love to play a local card game we learned called Yaniv. Many of the Israelis know this game and get very competitive. My roommates and I keep a scorebook on our dining room table. You just need a normal deck of cards to play. The object of the game is to have fewer than seven cards in your hand! You play up to 200 points, so it can take a while, but it is so much fun! We always make sure to bring a deck of cards with us wherever we go.
The grocery store was out of stock of my favorite Israeli snack, Crembos. Crembos are delicious chocolate-covered marshmallows with cookies on the bottom. They come in both chocolate and mocha flavors and are only sold here in the winter season. Luckily, my roommate went back to the store the next day and bought a box for me. It’s always great to have good friends!
