Inside the villlage, there are narrow paths, so it would be difficult or even impossible for a car to be driven on the streets. Sometimes there are not even roads--just bumpy, dirt paths! Also, most families can fit one or two e-bikes in their backyard, but have no space for an entire car, which is another reason why less people use cars here than in the United States. Most people in rural China also probably could not afford to buy a car whereas an ebike is relatively affordable at ($500-$750).
