¡Bienvenidos a España! (Welcome to Spain!)

I attend the State University of New York at Fredonia (SUNY Fredonia), which is about two and a half hours away from my home. There, I really got to explore who I was and what I wanted to pursue as my career. At first, I really wasn’t sure what to do with my life, but I knew two things for certain: I want to help others and I love learning Spanish. These two passion ultimately led me to the majors of International Studies and Spanish. In International Studies, I focus on how countries make economic deals, global political decisions and solve social problems collectively. All of these things boil down to how countries interact with each other. This knowledge, coupled with my traveling nature, made studying abroad an obvious choice for me.

Initially, I chose to study in Spain to practice my Spanish, but after doing some research I quickly realized how much more this country has to offer. Spain is famous for paella (a rice and seafood dish), bullfighting and Flamenco dancing. These stereotypes aren't wrong, but there is so much more to Spain. Spain also has the friendliest people I’ve ever met, booming automotive and banking industries and a diverse and ever-changing language. I am thrilled to share all of this and more with you over the next couple of months. I hope you fall in love with Spanish culture just as much as I have.
