This week I traveled as far as Kaiserslautern which is roughly 43 miles (69.4 km) from Saarbrücken.
The farthest distance I have traveled within Europe is still from Saarbrücken to Prague, a total of 400 miles. It was a combination of train and bus and took around 8-9 hours.
This week I spent less time outside due to the weather; I got around using mainly buses with some regional trains as well.
The most interesting place I visited this week is surprisingly enough a foodstore. Usually I visit the ones near to where I live, but one of my friends wanted to go to a larger one near the city center. It was cool because this store had a wider variety of products and actually quite a few festive (Halloween related) things.
I have become so used to traveling on trains here that I no longer show up forty minutes before the train arrives, but rather five minutes. I think that is one large difference between my traveling mindset in the U.S. and in Europe. Also I usually take airplanes in the U.S.A.
