Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

Bonn is about 50 miles south of Essen. It took us two hours to get there on the train.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

Ever since I left my home in Washington, D.C., I've traveled over 4,000 miles from the U.S. to Germany! Since Bonn is so close, I could go there and back to Essen in just one day.

How did I get around this week?:

I mostly walked this week once we were in Bonn, but I took the train to get there from Essen. Being in Bonn made me wish I had a bike because that's how all of the college students got around.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

My friends and I went to an English shop in Bonn! Here, they sold tons of products from English speaking countries. I saw a lot of American things, but they were so expensive!

Other Travel News from this week:

Bonn is a lot more bike friendly than Essen is. In Essen, we have a great tram system, but in Bonn, most people ride bikes since there aren't as many trams.
