Hi everyone! My name is Raven Ferguson, and I am excited to share my journey to the United Kingdom with all of you! I am 19 years old and from the small town of Monticello, Mississippi. I have lived in rural Mississippi my whole life. Growing up, I did not have many electronic things like Wi-fi and DirecTV, so I spent a lot of my time playing outside or reading. I loved to explore the woods with my cousins, look for animals, build forts and climb trees. My love of being outdoors still continues today! I enjoy hiking, walking my dogs and exploring nature in Mississippi or wherever I am. However, I am missing my dogs already. At home I have two puppies, a nine year old dachshund (or wiener-dog) and a rescued basset hound mix. I also have two younger sisters, one of which is taking care of my dogs and feeding them lots of treats while I am in college.
Besides hiking, my other main hobby is reading. A fun fact about me is that I own a little over 1000 books, but unfortunately, they would not all fit into my luggage for England. I love to read because through stories, I can experience peoples’ lives that are different than my own and learn about places all over the world. My favorite book is The Once and Future King by T.H. White, a fantasy story that follows King Arthur’s life.
