Daily Life in for Japanese University Students

What do you like to do in your free time?:

Lisa: I don’t like having free time so I don’t know what I like to do in my free time. Right now I focus on studying and my part-time job.

Kaito: I like to practice learning another language like English or Korean.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

Lisa: I speak Japanese, English, Spanish and Italian.

Kaito: I speak Japanese.

In Japanese, "Hello" is written こんにちは and pronounced "Konnichiwa!"

Do you have pets?:

Lisa: No, I don't have any pets.

Kaito: Yes, I have two cats.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

Lisa: I have. I’ve been to the continent of America, both East and South Asia and Eastern Europe. I travel a lot.

Kaito: I've been to the island of Hokkaido in the northeast, the capitol, Tokyo, and the city Kagoshima on the southwest island of Kyushu, but I’ve never traveled outside of Japan. Hokkaido is much farther north than Tokyo and Kyushu, so it is usually much colder.

What do you do for work?:

Lisa: My part-time job is tutoring kids.

Kaito: My part time job as a student is working at a bar.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

Lisa: My advice is: Live to learn.

Kaito: If you have time and enough money to buy a plane ticket, go abroad and meet native people in other countries with another background.
