Traveler Bio

Namaskaram! Hello! My name is Rachel and I am from Long Island, New York. I am 23 years old, and my hobbies include traveling and reading. A fun fact about myself is that I have actually spent my childhood in many different countries. I was born in India and spent the first five years of my life there. I then moved to Australia where I learned English for the first time. After a couple of years in Australia, I moved to the beautiful costal city of Malacca, Malaysia. Finally, when I was about thirteen years old, my family and I moved to the United States.

You could say that I had a very exciting childhood, moving around all the time. You can also probably understand why I love to travel around so much. So when I got the chance to work in India through the U.S. Fulbright Research grant, I jumped at the opportunity! I am currently in the beautiful state of Kerala, also known as "God's Own Country." As I work in this incredibly diverse and vibrant country, I hope to learn more about my culture and share my journey with you all. I hope that we can learn about this amazing country together!
