What main languages are spoken here?:

Catalan and Spanish are the primary languages here, but many people also speak English, and I even know someone that speaks Basque. Basque Country is a region of Spain located close to France, and the language is in fact the only language spoken in Europe which is unrelated to other European languages or any other language at all. Its origins are a mystery.

What type of money is used here?:

We use the euro, which is equal to approximately 1.15 US dollars. The use of credit and debit cards is also very common here.

Travel tip (for visiting any country): make sure to let your bank know before you travel, or they might think your card has been stolen!

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

The average cost of a bottle of water is equivalent to approximately $2.80, but at the top of Park Güell they were selling them for $1.15.

What was the best meal this week?:

My favorite meal this week was one that i ate at a small restaurant in Girona, a town located an hour and a half by car from Barcelona. I tried several new foods and had a great time with my host brother's friends in this restaurant. Read my food field note to learn more!
