Traveler Bio

Hej! Hello! My name is Miranda Maung, and I'm a junior studying Biochemistry and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine! I was born and raised in the state of Maine. If you have ever seen a bottle of Poland Spring Water…”Poland," Maine is where I grew up!

This spring, even though I’m in a whole different country, I am still attending school, just like you. Can you guess where I am? Here’s a hint: LEGO toys were invented here. That’s right, I’m in Denmark! Right now, I'm taking a few classes in Copenhagen, the capital, and conducting scientific research at a hospital in another city called Roskilde. My research project is on the relationship between macular sensitivity and atrophy area growth in patients with an eye disease called age-related macular degeneration. When I’m not attending class or doing research, I love to roller skate, go hiking, take pictures, cook, and hang out with friends. I'm so excited to meet all of you and bring you along on my adventures!
