It is over 800 pages long (differs by translation, original in Russian), has roughly 12 main characters, and has all the long-winded descriptions of non-plot related events one would expect to find in a 19th-century novel. However, it is considered a classic and makes for the perfect beach read with its super short chapters, exhausting sentence structure, and ability to lead the reader to need many breaks.
So far, it's not the worst book I have ever read!
