Traveler Bio

Hi friends! Mr. Leslie here coming to you from Gqeberha, South Africa. Over the next couple of months, I will be corresponding with you about my teaching experiences at Pearson High School. I will be updating you about my adventures and interactions beyond school too. I am already encountering so many new things both in and out of school and I hope you will find them as interesting as I do.

Coming here is an exciting opportunity to see what life is like for students, teachers, and people outside of our small and isolated state. This experience is the culmination of a lot of hard work and it is an honor to be supported by the University of Wyoming and the Gilman Scholarship. The funding I have received is accessible to you as well.

Eventually, I discovered a passion for literature, composition, and teaching. I applied myself to my studies and took pride in the work that I produced. Now, I am seeing things I never could have dreamed of before. It is easy for me to see these opportunities in your future too. My hope is to come away from my time in South Africa a better teacher and a better person. After all, there is always so much progress to be made. I cannot wait to talk with you all soon.
