Let's Go! 가자 (Gaja)

Introduction:

After being in Seoul for two months now, I have come to learn a lot about how the transportation system works and how to get to places. I've noticed many similarities and differences between the transportation systems in South Korea and New York City. Since Seoul's system isn't that different, it wasn't hard to get used to. Let's dive into what those similarities and differences are!

How do people get around?:

Just like New York City, most people get around using the public transportation system. People can travel by train, bus, taxi or korail, but you need a T Money Card, which is similar to a metro card in New York. South Korea also has many bike racks so people can use bikes to get around.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

When I took the train by myself for the first time, I was scared and overwhelmed. Will I understand how and when to get off? However, after traveling on my own, I found it easy to understand where I was going because all the stops and signs had English on them. Additionally, when I get on the train, there are always announcements about what the next stop is. In order to know how to get to where I want to go, I first use Naver Map, which is an app similar to Google Maps.
