“Sawatdee ka!” (Hello!) My name is Jessica and I am currently studying abroad in Bangkok, the largest city in Thailand. Before I tell you why I travelled here, I want to share a little bit about myself! I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, living in a suburban town called Vallejo about one hour north of San Francisco. All of my closest friends are from here! So is most of my family including my many cousins, aunts and uncles. I have two brothers, Julian and Jayson, and I am the middle child. I also have two dogs named Lika and Robin (they are father and son), and a cat named Ginger Cat. She follows my best friend/boyfriend around when we walk our dogs. When I was your age, growing up, I would race home to see my neighborhood friends, and we would play games, go biking, or climb trees such as the thick bamboo trees that grow in my front yard. Now I am too big to climb the bamboos, but I love to go rock climbing or bouldering when the opportunity pops up. I also like drawing, reading, swimming, hiking and camping.

I am studying Geography at San Francisco State University, so I am learning to make connections between the environment and how we as a society use it.
