I have learned a lot of things I was not aware of about life in Paris and French traditions by taking the time to ask waiters and my teachers, questions about their own life.
One of my favorite things to do at the moment is go running. I've come to realize that an impressive number of Parisians hit the streets during the afternoons to run alongside the Seine river. By taking such runs, I've been able to meet people that also love running and have been able to see a different side of the city I did not know before. One of the guys I met while running showed me an amazing track on which you cross through one of the most famous gardens in Paris in order to get from one side of the Seine to the other.
As this week came to an end, I felt much more comfortable navigating the city and speaking in French. I am planning to join a cooking class in the weeks to come in order to experience yet another aspect of Parisian life.
