Traveler Bio

Good day! Hello! My name is Helen Keevy. I am 23 years old and I am from Savannah, Georgia. Life in Savannah is very relaxed and I am able to spend a lot of time hanging out at the beach and downtown. I also went to college in Savannah at Savannah State University, where I studied environmental science while also playing softball. I then went to Tulane University to get my Master's degree in environmental health science. I conducted water quality research in the New Orleans East area, which helped the community identify the contaminents in their water and begin to correct those issues. I have been eager to use the techniques I acquired while studying water quality, so I applied for the Fulbright Student Research Grant to study the recreational water quality in Trinidad & Tobago. I will be comparing caffeine levels and fecal coliform counts in the water to see if there is a correlation between the two. I am now living in St. Augustine, Trinidad, right by the University of the West Indies, which is where my lab work takes place. I am so excited to share my adventures with you all and am very eager to hear about your journeys and any questions you may have for me!
