In an international airport, there are lots of languages that can be heard at any one point in time. Sometimes, depending on the flight terminal you're near, you can hear different languages spoken over the intercom or printed on signs. For example, when walking past Iberia Airlines (a Spanish airline), you can hear Spanish being spoken!
Though U.S. dollars are still the main currency (another word for money) since I'm still in the US, there are many different places where you can exchange currency into different types. For example, I will need to exchange U.S. dollars into British pounds so that when my flight lands, I have money to get around. These shops have all of the various types of currency, so no matter where you're going, you can always get the money you need!
Food and drinks are very expensive inside airports, a regular, fast-food meal that would cost $5-7 back home, can cost $12-13 at least! Food and drink options can also be limited, as your only options are the restaurants inside the airport.
