Field Note - Communities

Introduction:

Communities Field Notes focus on the essential question, “How do we meet a community’s needs?” Travelers might focus on community services such as recycling, waste, or electrical systems. They also might share information about services for communities of need, such as refugees.

By learning about the traveler’s local community, students can understand and appreciate how hard work and organization within our communities helps us to meet the needs that we have. Community Field Notes aim to encourage students to ponder the essential question: How am I connected to my world?

Your traveler will answer these questions:

What community need did I learn about?

Why does the community have this need?

Is this need being met? How?
