Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I traveled three hours away from Seoul to the southern part of South Korea. I visited the cities of Namwon and Jeonju. I also visited some historical sites such as the place of birth of the love story of Chunhyang and Mongryong, which is a beloved Korean folk tale, and the Hwaeomsa Temple on Mt. Jirisan. It was nice to get away from the city and see other places in South Korea.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

The farthest I've traveled in South Korea is to Jeonju which is about three hours away. In total, since leaving Los Angeles I've traveled over 6,000 miles.

How did I get around this week?:

I usually get around on foot, but whenever I want to explore neighboring towns, I use the bus or the train. The transportation system is convenient and easy to learn. As long as you have a T-Money card you can easily get around without a car.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

My favorite place to visit was the Chunhyang Theme Park where I was able to see several iconic places in the love story of Chunhyang and Mongryong such as the bridge where they reunited and the swing Chungyang would ride to see over the walls of the city.
