What main languages are spoken here?:

In Spain, hay cuatro idiomas (there are four languages): Castellano (Castilian), Catalán (Catalan), Gallego (Galician), and Euskera (Basque). Castilian Spanish is the official language of Spain and is spoken everywhere. Catalan is spoken in all of Catalonia, which includes Barcelona. Galician is spoken in the north-western region of Galicia, and is very similar to Portuguese. Lastly, Basque is the oldest spoken language in Europe and is spoken in Basque Country province which borders Catalonia.

What type of money is used here?:

euros are the currency in Spain now, but between 1868 and 2002 the "peseta" was.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water bought at a restaurant ranges from two to three dollars. Instead of paying for a bottle, I ask for un vaso de agua (a glass of water), which is free!

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I ate this week was the paella my host mom prepared. It contained peas, chicken, rice, shrimp and many other delicious ingredients.

What music did I listen to this week?:

I went to a discoteca (dance club) this week and, surprising to me, they played a lot of American music.
