Dogs, Ponds and Mountains, Oh My!

Introduction:

Overall, animals in South Korea are very similar to those in the United States. People here have pets like cats and dogs. The environment is different in South Korea than in most of the United States, though. In South Korea, there are a lot of mountains. About 70% of South Korea is mountains. Between the mountains, there is flat land such as rice fields or other farmland. Just like the U.S., there are different animals that live based on where in South Korea you are. On my island, there aren't that many animals. There are deer, squirrels, birds, cranes, leopards and lynx on the mainland of South Korea, though!

What does this creature or plant look like?:

Cats and dogs in South Korea look the same as cats and dogs in the United States. All of the breeds in South Korea also exist in the U.S.

How did I feel when I saw it?:

I feel a little homesick whenever I see cats or dogs. I have a cat named Eevvee that lives in the U.S., and both of my sisters have dogs that I used to see often. I think of these pets whenever I see cats or dogs on my island.

Where does it live?:

Many of the cats that I see are strays and live on the streets. Dogs, however, are usually pets and live with families in apartments or houses.
