Farewell

My parents were waving goodbye as I crossed the security checkpoint at the airport, their faces pulled up into smiles, while my mother had tears in her eyes. She always gets emotional when one of her children leaves the house, whether we go off to college or to another country. In my case, both. On the boat, both of my friends had jumped in the water before me. One was struggling to breathe through the regulator which is the mouthpiece that feeds oxygen through your mouth. I was alone. It was my choice to jump. Well, not really just my choice. Thankfully, my instructor counted down and told me to jump on three. Either way, it was a very similar moment in my opinion. Both options, diving and going to Thailand, seemed like crazy ideas in the beginning. I do not speak Thai. I am not a strong swimmer. Yet, I flew to study in Thailand, and I also jumped off a boat to scuba dive.

I hope that my journey has been fun to read about. It has been great getting to answer your questions and thinking about my journey so I could write about it for you guys. Thank you so much!
