Ten young members of The Explorers Club have come together to embark on a journey down Cambodia’s Mekong River, traveling into remote areas using inflatable packrafts. Follow along!

This week our expedition team paddled down the Mekong River using inflatable packrafts. We stopped at a small rural village along the way.

Ankor Wat is a temple in Cambodia. It is one of the most impressive temples in the world. The massive religious area houses ornate temples of worship. Join me as I journey into Ankgor Wat.

Field Notes

We're on the lookout for the endangered Asian giant softshell turtle along the Mekong River, and every possible turtle nest we see along the riverbank is so exciting!

We paddled 130 km down the Mekong River, from Laos to a town called Sambour. The journey took eight days. We stopped at a village for two nights and we camped on beaches for the other nights.
