Traveler Bio

Hi everyone! My name is Annika, and I am 22 years old. I am originally from Chicago, but right now, I'm living in Kiel, Germany! If you look at a map, my town is all the way up at the top of Germany near a huge body of water called the Baltic Sea.

When I was in school, I wanted to be a scientist, and I especially loved learning about biology, which is the science of living things, and psychology, which is the science of the human mind and our behavior. When I went to college in North Carolina, that's exactly what I did! I focused my studies on groups of people known as immigrants, who all came to the U.S. from another country. I wanted to understand how their unique experiences connected to their health.

Now that I've graduated college, I am so lucky to be able to spend a year in Germany on a Fulbright Grant! I'm continuing my research in psychology while exploring a new part of the world I have never been to before. In my free time, I enjoy visiting gardens, rock-climbing, skiing in the mountains, and learning how to cook a new type of food every week! When I visit a new place, I love going to museums, beaches, and amusement parks with big rollercoasters. I can’t wait to show all of you the new foods I try, the places I visit, and the science experiments I get to do. See you soon!
