Our News

What did I read this week?:

I am very excited because my students here are being connected to the school where I student-taught last year and to my friend’s classroom through pen-pal letters! The two fifth grade classrooms in the U.S. first wrote to my two sixth grade classrooms. They talked about their daily lives, their families, hobbies, and some even mentioned Fortnite. Now, I am reading them with my sixth graders one by one to make sure they understand all of the English, and next week we will write back to our pen-pals!

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I did not play any game or sports, but while in Ein Gedi we went for a hike for about an hour and a half. It was not that intense, but it was beautiful! The hike is very doable for people of all ages. We saw babies strapped to their dads' backs and elderly people successfully making their way around the nature reserve. We had many glimpses of a beautiful waterfall in the mountains of the desert!

Other news from this week:

I also enjoyed going to the World Press Photography Exhibit in Tel Aviv with my friend Caroline.  This exhibit opened my eyes to happenings in the world around us. I was able to look at both horrific events and beautiful happenings in places ranging from America to the Netherlands to right here in Israel. I always think that photographs are so powerful and eye-opening. A photograph lets us see the human inside all of us and allows us to travel to the corners of the world without moving a single muscle.
