What main languages are spoken here?:

Jakarta is the most diverse city in Indonesia. Since it is the capital of Indonesia and has the busiest airport in the country, lots of tourists enter Indonesia through Jakarta. In addition, many people have chosen to remain in the city. This means that you will find recent immigrants working in the city, citizens of various ethnicities, and the oldrest ethnic group in the city called the Bataks. The official language spoken here is Bahasa Indonesia, but many languages are spoken, including English and Dutch.

What type of money is used here?:

The money used in Jakarta is the rupiah, but because of how metropolitan the city is, many businesses also accept U.S. dollars, the Chinese yuan, and or the Malaysian ringgit.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

Like any major city, the cost of things can vary depending on the area, and items are usually a bit more expensive than you might find in rural areas. While a bottle of water may cost 2,000 rupiah for 16 ounces, it may be as much as 5,000 for the same brand and size elsewhere in the city.
