I remember first landing in Lima and being scared; but this was because I did not know anyone. However, as I began classes at the Universidad del Pacifico, those negative feelings began to change. I've met other international students who traveled all the way from France, Poland and The Netherlands; and, of course, I have met many Peruvian students who have helped me get from one place to another. For instance, one of my Peruvian friends, Alejandra, took me to eat tacos in Miraflores by bus. Claudia, another Peruvian students, took me all the way to Barranco to look at more street art. We also went to a football match between Peru and Uruguay in the Estadio Nacional, and the atmosphere was crazy! My host mom, Lila, has also been wonderful. She cooks every night for us and helps me get around Lima. If I ever need help, she is the first person I call. Rafa, Lila's husband, has also taken me to post office once to pick up a package that had arrived for me, and he is always asking me if I learned something new at school. Mili, another Peruvian friend, has invited me to go with her to Barranco because she lives close by. So, as you can see, during the short time I have been in Peru, I have meet so many kind, fun and helpful friends, both local and from around the world. It has been amazing.
