Traveler Bio

Hello! My name is Kristy, and I was born and raised in a small town in rural Maryland where I grew up with my parents, my older brother Jeff, and my two dogs, Lexi and Gunner. From an early age, I loved school and teaching, so I decided to work hard and become a teacher.

When I was maybe 14 or 15 years old, I was bit by the travel bug. I dreamed of going abroad. At 21, I graduated Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania, trained and licensed to be an elementary school teacher. I was then awarded a Fulbright Grant to teach English in South Korea! I am almost done with my first year here, and now I am excited to have applied and been accepted for a second year!

I look forward to telling you all about my journey from a girl in an isolated town in Maryland all the way to teacher in South Korea! South Korea is a fascinating place, and together we'll explore the culture, food and traditions that make it unique. Let's go!
