Traveler Bio

Hello! I am coming to you from the beautiful city of Bogotá, Colombia! My name is Karly Feinberg, and I am from the suburbs outside of Philadelphia. I have a love for experiencing new things! These “things” range from activities like scuba diving, rollerblading, and triathlons, to places like museums, national parks and cities! When it comes to life, I don’t like leaving any stone unturned. So, when I had the chance to study abroad during college, I was over the moon with excitement!

Living and studying at a university in Quito, Ecuador ended up changing my life. I realized that traveling allowed me to meet people, see places and experience a way of life I never would have in the U.S. After my study abroad experience, I continued traveling whenever I could. I went back to Ecuador for an internship, and I also visited four countries in Central America!

I decided I wanted to move to a new country and find a job that allowed me to work with the people that live there. I applied for a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant scholarship. This brings me back to the present. I am currently a Fulbright scholar, living in Bogotá, and teaching English at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. I help my students get a better grasp of the English language during the week, and then I try to uncover some of Colombia’s greatest wonders on the weekend!

I’m excited to share this experience with you, and I can’t wait to stay updated on what is going on in your classroom!
