Traveler Bio

Hi there! My name is Andrew, and for the next year I’ll be living in a city called Can Tho (pronounced “kuhn tuh”) in southern Vietnam. My job here is to teach English classes full of local college students at Can Tho University. We work together everyday to get better at speaking, listening and reading in English. I have lots of fun in class, because the students are excited to learn English and they tell me about their lives in Vietnam!

When I’m not teaching, my days are filled with riding motorcycles, slurping noodles and doing my best to learn about Vietnamese language and culture. Making friends here is easy, because people are happy to show me around town and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee together.

Before I moved to Can Tho, I lived in California. I was born and raised near San Francisco, a place that’s surrounded by beautiful nature. I love to hike and camp in the mountains, especially with my family. My best friend is my sister. Her name is Claire, and we talk about everything together! I’m 22 years old and I just graduated from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. I majored in journalism, so I got to talk to a lot of different people and tell interesting stories about their lives. Reading, writing and taking pictures are some of my favorite things to do.

I can’t wait to get to know you and talk to you about all the different reasons why living in Vietnam is so wonderful! See you soon!
