Hallo! Hello! Ich bin (I am) Tommy and I am 22 years old! I am a military brat (a military "brat" is a boy or girl whose parent(s) is/are in the military) from Huntsville, Alabama. Huntsville is a city famous for its southern food, spaceships and rocket science. But because my father was in the Air Force, I moved around a lot as a kid. I have also lived in Colorado, New Hampshire and New York. I speak multiple languages, including German, French and Italian. When I graduated from high school, I left Huntsville to go to college at the University of Alabama. There, I studied diplomacy, culture and linguistics. Diplomacy is about how different countries work together and linguistics is the scientific study of languages.
Just before I graduated, I was fortunate to earn a Fulbright grant that allows me to move to a different country and become a teacher while representing America. Soon, I will move to Germany and become a high school teacher, teaching both English and American culture. I look forward to sharing my adventure with you and I am excited to answer any questions that come up along the way!
