Itaewon also shows local Koreans different cultures! Even if these locals cannot leave Korea to see other places for themselves, they can still learn about the world in Itaewon.
With the increase in foreigners, there was an increase in the demand for home. As more people come, they bring with them a little piece of their culture. Since everyone gathers in Itaewon, they can share it with others. People can open restaurants that sell authentic food! Some stores even sell snacks like Cool Ranch Doritos. Although I am glad to be in a completely different culture to my own, it is fun to be able to get a dose of America...while living in South Korea!
