Simply HAMazing

We also ordered several other small tapas, or appetizers, to make sure that we were full! It was nice to sit with my friends and talk over tapas.

How is the food prepared?:

Iberian ham is typically sliced very thin. There is a special device that holds the pig leg, which has the hoof on it still! It is then sliced with a special knife into small, thin pieces. It can be added to a variety of tapas, pinchos or eaten by itself. It is similar to prosciutto, which we can find in the United States.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Tapas and pinchos are both connected to the local environment because they are a very social activity. Every time I go to each pinchos in Logroño, there are always many locals out to eat. In Logroño, there is a famous street called Calle Laurel, or Laurel Street, where many people go to eat pinchos. It common to stand outside the restaurants and eat pinchos outside, or at the restaurant counter.
