How People Travel in India

Trains take much longer than airplanes, but they are comfortable and you are able to get a full night of rest sleeping in your bunk. The bathrooms are dirty, though, so avoid using them if you can!

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

The compact, affordable nature of motorcycles and autos make them accessible to people in India who do not have enough money to buy a car. Since they are small, they don't need very much fuel and they are easy to maneuver in the busy streets of India.

The train system was built in the 1800s when Britain ruled India! That was over 100 years ago. There have been many years to build lots of tracks that connect every corner of India, which makes using trains convenient for long distance travel in India. Airplanes can be expensive, and while a smaller town may not have an airport, but it will have a train station. This situation is changing quickly in India, though, and airplanes are becoming a more popular way to travel.  Nonetheless, I think riding the train is always a fun experience!
