I have a few favorite restaurants in the area and several routes that I love for walking and running. I buy groceries and cook my own meals every week and I know where to find the cheapest ingredients at each store. I have attended many local events, including festivals, parades and concerts. For the winter semester I also took classes at the Ludwigshafen Hochschule, a university of applied sciences. Due to my work schedule, I was only able to take one class, a German language course. However, I enjoyed the routine of going to class twice a week and meeting other international students from Japan, Bosnia, Taiwan, Kosovo and Finland. I have explored many of the surrounding areas and know the train schedules almost like the back of my hand!
There are still many challenges and new experiences that I encounter every day, but Ludwigshafen does feel more like my home now.
