Walking in the Shoes of an Orensano

Almost every city in Spain is connected by high-speed trains, which makes it easy to commute to different cities.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

I personally love being able to walk anywhere I want to go. I was able to get an apartment right off a main road, so I can easily walk to my school for work, to the middle of the casco viejo to meet up with friendsor to any other part of the city I want to go.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

European cities are much older than our cities in the States. Because of this, most major cities date back to before cars were common. This is why the old parts of the city have narrow cobblestone streets, old stone buildings and Gothic architecture. Since the religious majority in Spain has historically been Catholic, almost every main city has a beautiful cathedral dating back centuries, and Ourense is not an exception. It is wonderful to experience the history you can feel in the casco viejo and then see in surrounding areas how architecture has changed over the centuries.
