Carnivale

During Lent, many people give up items or practices that they consider luxuries. Many Italians celebrate Carnivale as a way to enjoy themselves before Lent.

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

Carnivale is not necessarily connected to the natural environment, but it is connected to the cultural environment. As I mentioned, Carnivale is closely related to Lent, which is a religious observance in the Catholic Church. A vast majority of Italians are Catholic and even many Italians who do not practice Catholicism as their religion are immersed in Catholic culture and, therefore, take part in carnivale as well. In this way, the celebration of carnivale is connected to the social and cultural environments of Italy, and is thus very significant.
