While Florence and Rome are both Italian cities, the lifestyle in each varies drastically. In Rome, life feels fast. The city is large and the architecture is thousands of years old and long forgotten languages are transcribed into their plaques. People drive fast and cars are parked where they can fit their car, even if this means they are completely in the way for someone else! Even the food is slightly different. The Romans eat their carbonara with a different type of pork and deep fry their artichokes. In Florence, the buildings are old, but not nearly as old. The cars are fast but not as fast as in Rome and people prefer to walk in Florence because the city is so small. Sometimes I do not remember how much I love living in Florence until I leave and am able to gain a different perspective.
